Celestial Bay is owned by Michael and Kim O'Brien. It is one of Margaret Rivers newer wineries, established in 2000 on a 38 hectare farm in the Willyabrup region. It was a tough start; grape prices collapsed in 2003, and even in Margaret River, conditions can sometimes be tough.
With low prices for grapes (and grape prices are still poor), Michael and Kim decided to become bigger and make their own wine. Estate grown wine is really what Margaret River is all about after all, estate grown wine, made in small quantities, by the owners themselves. This seems to have paid off for Celestial Bay - now they have a very well respected range of wines - all at a amazing price.
Celestial Bay, in addition to the normal wines so popular in Margaret River have a Petit Verdot. This wine is often used to soften Cabernet Suavignon, but makes a very fine wine by itself. If we have some in stock (and we might not, this is a very hard to get wine) why don't you try it, along of course with others in the Celestial Bat range.
